New Publication: Nanoscale Strain Mapping in van der Waals Structures. We are thrilled to announce our latest work on nanoscale strain mapping in van der Waals nanostructures using 4D STEM and EMPAD. This method helps us better understand how strain affects the optoelectronic properties of these materials. Big congrats to Maarten for his great work!

We are thrilled to announce that our recent workshop on HyperSpy open source software for multi-dimensional data analysis was a success! We are thrilled to announce that our lab has been awarded a highly prestigious European Research Council (ERC) Starting Grant. We are grateful for the support of the ERC in enabling us to continue our research on 2D materials. With this grant, we will have the opportunity to study the unique properties of these materials, which are fully functional down to a single atomic layer, and explore how we can expand and enrich these properties by utilizing the one-dimensional geometry.

We are thrilled to announce that The Netherlands Electron Microscopy Infrastructure (NEMI) has received a significant investment of 17M€ from the Dutch minister of Science and Education. This investment will pave the way for groundbreaking research in the field of material science for quantum technologies, and we are honored to be a part of this initiative.Within NEMI, Delft will focus on research in the field of material science for quantum technologies. Specifically, the Conesaboj Lab (Electron Nanoscopy of Quantum Materials) has been awarded €900K to upgrade our Titan TEM microscope, which will allow us to conduct new and exciting research at the nanoscale.
